Th2 Cross-Cultural Dialogue
on Family Harmony and Youth Growth
Beijing, China, May 15-18,2007
Call for Papers
With the purpose of promoting the transmission of valuable family cultural tradition and the development of family culture, morality, and a healthy atmosphere of civilized behavior, encouraging international dialogue between different cultures, and exploring new approaches to and new ideas for the development of family culture under new historical circumstances, the International Conference for Cross-cultural Dialogue on Youth Education held in May, 2005, was very productive and attracted the attention of important organizations in China and abroad.? It was widely agreed that such cross-cultural dialogue and exchange provides the best kind of forum for promoting communication, mutual understanding, and mutual appreciation among different nations and different countries.? "How to bring about harmonious development of the family and the society" was a theme in which all the participants were interested.
In view of the above, China Care and Compassion Society, the Chinese Society of the Dialectics of Nature, and the Chinese Association of Science Instructors for Youth, in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Art and the Chinese Association of Women Scientists, plan to hold the second "International Conference for Cross-Cultural Dialogue" in Beijing, May, 15-18,2007.The focus of this Dialogue will be "Family Harmony and Youth Development".
Themes for the Conference
1. The evolution of the home and the family in history and criteria for evaluating family harmony;
2. House codes and family education for children and their effect on the transmission of culture and the fostering of moral virtues;
3. Family life practice and the cultivation of creativity in children;
4. Migrant workers' families and the problem of education for their children left at home;
5. Case study of the status of the allocation and use of family leisure time;
6. Bringing about family harmony, one of the UN's goals for the new millennium: what are the challenges for family harmony;
7. Designing models for harmonious family life;
8. Other issues related to family harmony and youth development.
Submission of Papers
1. The paper can be sent by email to Chinaguanai@gmail.com.? The format should be Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) or MS Word (.doc).? There should be an abstract of about 150 words for each paper.
2. Authors who do not have access to email can send by ordinary mail a printed copy of the paper together with an electronic copy on a floppy disk to the secretary's office of China Care and Compassion Society.
3. The deadline for submitting abstracts is March 15, 2007.
4. The deadline for submitting complete papers is April 30, 2007.
